The active ingredients in these Green Light Products are unique, patented formulations made from plant oils and other ingredients widely used as food and cosmetic additives. These plant oils kill insects by blocking specific neural pathways that don't exist within mammels or birds. These plant oils attack the Octopamine neuro-receptors. Octopamine is a key insect neurotransmitter that regulates insect movement, behavior, and metabolism. The blockage of the receptor activity prevents the transmission of the Octopamine signals which leads to certain characteristic signs of toxity such as excitiation, hyperextension in the hind legs and abdomen, followed by immobilization and/or knock down, followed by death. This process will begin immediately. Mortality can occur within minutes of applicatio, but may take hours depending on the type of insect pest and concentration of product that contacts the insect directly. Bioganic can be used up to the day of harvest on vegetables and other edible plants.
