Description: Adults normally are brown or green and dull colored, however, there are a few forms, which are bright and attractively colored.
Habitat/Food: Spittle bugs are Found in fields, marshes, and swamps on a variety of forbs, where they feed on woody plants.
Life Cycle: A spittlebugs life cycle from start to finish last 40 to 52 days.
Organic Control: Use biological sprays that contain pyrethrins, citrus, or other plant oil based products. Seaweed can be used for lighter infestations.
Interesting Fact: Some species can jump up to 70 cm vertically: a more impressive performance relative to body weight than fleas.
