Description: 3/8-inch, brown, hairy, bodies that can grow quite large.
Habitat/Food: Wolf spiders can commonly be seen running around indoors or in the garden. They hunt for insects on the ground without the use of a web.
Life Cycle: After mating, the female carries the egg sac attached to her. The hatched spiderlings will spend a small amount of time traveling with their mother until they can fend for themselves.
Organic Control: Citrus or other plant oil based products can be used as effective control against these spiders.
Interesting Fact: Wolf Spiders hunt for insects on the ground without the use of a web. Before they attack, they set a dragline with their web, so that they can better hold onto their prey.
